The Founder and Chairman's View

THE BEGINNING…..1991

It’s been 34 years from the year PAGES started providing the no cost surgical care.

Thirty four years of giving children hope. We have spent these years giving smiles to children so that they could live without the fear of being ridiculed because they are different. Not only do they look different from other children their age, but they sound different as well.

These mere physical differences do not make them any less "normal" than other children. They are still bright and happy children wanting to be like everyone else. However, sometimes these physical differences causes them to be less social, have fewer friends, or even stay home from school because they appear "different" from all of the other children.

With medical technologies constantly evolving, it only takes about an hour for their physical flaws to be corrected by qualified surgeons. It's that simple. In about an hour, these children and their families see the result of a simple operation that can lead to many life changing experiences for all of them.

It was during the first PAGES mission in 1991 at Ospital ng Maynila (Manila City Hospital) and Saint Martin de Porres Charity Hospital located in San Juan Metro Manila that the smiles of hope were first realized. That first year, in a span of two weeks, PAGES Operation HOPE benefited over 250 patients, most of whom were children with facial congenital anomalies.

Now it’s 2026, the QUEZON MEDICAL CENTER located in Lucena City, Province of Quezon will be PAGES home in providing the health care to the most deserving families with children born with congenital anomalies such as cleft lip and cleft palate. It is through the the full support of the Chief of the Hospital Dr. Jef Villanueva and with the full blessings of the Provincial Governor Dr. Angelina “Doktora Helen” Tan

Operation HOPE medical volunteers will again will provide the same charity services to many deserving children. We are very happy to be able to continue our mission. We are also very blessed that so many volunteers are still willing to take time out of their own busy schedules and time away from their own families to help others in need. Our mission's strength comes from those volunteers, and we will continue this work for as long as strengths allow.

To our donors, we thank you so much for your full support so we may continue our noble work.
